Where Can I Serve?

Jesus told us, his disciples, to make disciples of all nations. One of the most important values of this church is our mission to the world. It begins in our own community, and spreads overseas to every nation. Church members are involved in a variety of ministries from things as simple as washing the church vehicles, to mailing cards, to preparing meals and everything in between.  It’s called LizellaLife.

Mission Outreach

LBC is thrilled to be part of the spread of God’s kingdom around the world. We are active in sending missionaries and supporting these missionaries with our money and with our prayers. We sponsor long-term missionary partners in Zambia, Peru, Turkey, Alaska, Georgia, and Tennessee, as well as short-term ones traveling to these areas and others across the world.  We encourage all of our people to respond to God’s call for laborers, whether it means that they move to a foreign country, live and minister in our own community, or simply pray for and support those who minister here or abroad.

Music & Drama

God-honoring worship is something we strive for. Many church members get involved in our music and drama ministry. Some play their instruments. Some are vocalists. Others are involved in the choir. Still others get involved in drama. These volunteers are an important part of the ministry of our church, using their talents and gifts to glorify God or using them to coach our children to do so.

Ushers & Greeters

The usher team at our church fills an important role. They are involved in directing attendees to their seats, ensuring the safety of the building during services, guiding traffic, helping visitors, answering questions, providing direction, unlocking doors, locking doors, and generally ensuring that the service can proceed problem-free. This team is a servant-hearted group of men & women whose ministry is integral to church life.

Media & Technology

Using media to spread the gospel is a privilege of this church. In an age of widespread technology, we have a stewardship responsibility to use these tools for kingdom purposes. All of our weekly sermons are uploaded to our website in audio formats. We also maintain an active Facebook and Twitter feed for additional church communication.  Many volunteers make this arm effective for outreach.

G.O.A.L. Ministry

The Special Needs population in our area is greatly under-served with a lack of resources for enrichment, education and spiritual discipleship.  G.O.A.L. stands for God Outshines All Limitations.  Our G.O.A.L. ministry volunteers serve to enrich the lives of special needs individuals in our area through Christ-centered worship, teaching and close relationships that glorify our common Creator and Savior.

Prayer Warriors

Prayer cannot be overestimated. Prayer moves the hand of God. Our Church is a body of believers dependent upon prayer, and committed to God’s sovereignty. Each Sunday, during the morning service, a team of volunteers is praying for the ministry of the Word. Throughout the week, volunteers from our prayer teams pray for their pastor, church members, any special requests, and missionary prayer needs. Each Wednesday, the church comes together for a special time of prayer and Bible study.

Hospitality

Are you a gifted hostess, cook, chef, or seamstress?  Join the many of Biblical reknown who used their gifts and talents for the Lord.  From annual banquets to quarterly fellowships, there are many opportunities to put God-given creativity to work in service at Lizella Baptist.

Student Ministry

Wherever there are families, there are also needs for childcare, teachers, activity/game leaders, and mentors.  Role models are needed for the next generation of Christ-followers as part of the student ministry at LBC…lead the way as you follow The Way.  Of course, for the safety of our children, all volunteers are screened and undergo full background checks annually.

Men’s & Women’s Ministries & Recreation

In addition to regular discipleship, Men’s Ministry handles the majority of needs that come to the church for home repair & maintenance, and twice a year, offers automotive service for widows and single moms.  This is done in conjunction with our Women’s Ministry, who also schedules service projects throughout the year to benefit the community.  Sports-minded individuals might also consider leading a boot camp or fitness class, or serving with recreation team for our seasonal events.  Whatever the gifts and interests, God has a plan for you at LBC…a reason to lead you here to be a part of our body.  There is a place for you at LBC!
